Safety
Security and Peace of Mind.
As a gun owner, you must do your best to protect your guns. Its
not just about losing your valuable guns. Its about protecting
those you love from accidents and its about protecting your
community from criminals who arm themselves with stolen guns.
At Browning, we not only make the finest quality firearms, we make
the finest quality safes so you can responsibly store those guns.
Duo-Formed
Door
Brownings massive Duo-Formed door provides increased
security and fire protection. The door face is formed from a solid
piece of steel plate that is bonded to a second plate and fused
to a rigid length of double-formed, custom-shaped steel for an overall
door edge thickness of 1 5/16". This door is standard on Platinum
Plus, Gold, Medallion, and FN series safes.
Pry and Attack Resistance This extra thick door and
recessed door frame are extremely pry resistant. The thicker door
and frame make the whole safe more rigid. It exceeds UL tool attack
certification standards for gun safes.
Superior Fire Protection The Duo-Formed design
allows Browning/Pro-Steel to install a 1" layer of its own
high-tech Imprafill insulation sandwiched between the steel
plates; in addition to the 1/2" of fireproofing material on
the door back panel, this increases to 1 1/2" the total fire-resistant
material in the Duo-Formed door.
Seamless Face This construction also places no welds
or seams where they can be attacked. Since no welding is required
on the door face, there is no heat damage or warping during manufacturing
and the quality of the paint and finish are dramatically improved
over solid, one-piece plate doors.
180° Door Hinges Browning/Pro-Steel exterior hinges
allow 180° door opening and installation of fire-resistant material
around the entire door frame. Others safes have gaps in the
fire-resistant material to accommodate internal hinges. Attacking
external hinges is futile, as locking bolts surround the doors
perimeter.
Locking
System and Protection
Combination Lock Heavy-duty S & G Group II, UL
listed bank-type combination lock with a spy-proof shield, internal
relocker and 5-year S & G limited warranty.
1 1/4" Diameter Steel Locking Bolts (Platinum Plus, Gold,
Medallion, FN) Massive 1 1/4" diameter cold rolled
steel bolts guard the doors perimeter. They are installed
in the door to exacting tolerances so no fragile plastic shims are
needed. Should the door be inadvertently closed with the bolts extended,
a special cushion prevents these bolts from damaging the safes
finish.
Uni-Force Locking System Prevents outside pressure
to the locking bolts from being transmitted to the lock. Any force
applied to the bolts is transmitted to the heavy-duty cam system
instead of the lock. This is a Browning/Pro-Steel exclusive. When
force is applied to the bolts of a lesser safe, that force is transmitted
directly to the lightweight locking system and lock.
Brownings OmniBarrier lock protection system
Consists of multiple layers of case- hardened steel in front
of the main locking system, as well as a 1/4" steel plate behind,
creating an attack-resistant steel barrier that surrounds the critical
lock.
Platinum Plus and Gold Series safes include an additional case hardened
anti-drill deflector plate.
Only Browning/Pro-Steel uses this type of high-quality lock system
fortification. Other manufacturers avoid this type of fortification
because of its increased cost. Browning/Pro-Steel provides the most
protection for the money in the market today.
Locking Handle Shear Pin When excessive force is applied
to the door handle, the shear pin snaps free and the handle spins,
eliminating the possibility of lock damage.
Vault-type Cam System The Browning/Pro-Steel cam system
locks bolts in the top and sides of the door securely in place behind
the door frame, making the door extremely resistant to prying.
